Mr. John Drake is the son of Jim and Judy Drake. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii while his dad was in the Army. He has lived in many different states and countries. John attended college at Marion Military Institute on a ROTC scholarship where he received an Associate’s degree. John then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with honors in August 1984. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in December 1986. In March 1987 he passed the Tennessee Bar and entered the US Army Judge Advocate Corp. (JAGC). After the JAG school and airborne school (as class leader) he reported for duty to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky where he served two years with the famed 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division Legal Assistant Office.
In March 1989, John transferred to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and was legal counsel to the Green Berets. In 1990 he deployed with the 5th Special Forces Group to Saudi Arabia for Desert Shield/Storm. After a final duty station in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, John left the Army in 1992, due to a knee injury. He then relocated to Murfreesboro where he joined as association with Don R. Ash and Charles Ward. After 19 years of practice in Murfreesboro, Mr. Drake associated with Thomas D. Frost and Darren Drake, forming Drake Drake and Frost, An Association of Attorneys. In July 2018, Drake Drake and Frost transitioned into Drake Drake Clarke and Freeze, An Association of Attorneys.
John practices many areas of law including family law, wills and estates. However, his main focus is personal injury. John has obtained a multitude of verdicts and settlements for clients since he started a private practice. He has made sure numerous injured parties received generous settlements for their automobile accident injuries. He has also helped workers to get compensation after they were injured on the job. John has represented plaintiffs and defendants for construction errors and medical malpractice.
